Literacy

Find out more about providing educational resources for the
children in Fisheni Village.

Remember your first days in school and the excitement of learning and making new friends?  It doesn’t matter whether it was grammar school or college. You’ll carry those memories with you throughout your lifetime.

You can help children in a small village in Zambia experience that same excitement. Higher education is almost non-existent anywhere in the country, except for three small colleges. Right now, the education system in the Fisheni Village ends at the 9th year. Although there are schools, many children are simply not able to attend because of the cost.

One of the major problems is a lack of basic supplies like textbooks, paper, pencils, and chalkboards. Things that are relatively inexpensive in the US are often too costly for children in Fisheni village. Even qualified teachers are hard to find. By donating to The Fisheni Project, you can provide classroom supplies and teachers that can give children hope for the future.
