Health
See how you can get involved in bringing medicine and
healthcare to Fisheni Village.
Band-Aids cover simple cuts and scrapes. Cough Syrup helps an aching throat. Reach for an aspirin and soon your aches and pains are gone.
In an age when medicine covers everything from headaches to the most intricate surgeries, there are places in the world where disease is widespread. Almost 11 million children die each year from preventable diseases, childbirth complications, respiratory infections, diarrhea, malaria, and measles.
The devastating effects of Aids are well known around the globe. In Africa particularly, this disease has reduced the average life expectancy by 10 to 15 years. The death tolls have hit over 2.2 million in the last few years. What makes this an even greater concern is the number of children who are orphaned because of parents who die from Aids.
However, the situation is not completely grim. Women of Vision is taking actions to stop preventable diseases and to help those who are affected by Aids.
